In its 15th year, KC SuperStar is an exhilarating “American Idol” style competition that awards a $10,000 scholarship to the most talented high school singer in the Kansas City area. Students from across the metro audition, with judges selecting 20-24 semifinalists who vie for the coveted 10 finalist positions. The Top 10 Finalists spend the summer preparing for a high-energy, professionally produced show where the audience, comprised of donors and guests, selects the top winners. Semifinalists and finalists are granted more than $22,000 in combined scholarship money.
