Jen grew up in KCK before living in Lawrence and Chicago for several years. She has now settled in to Overland Park with her husband and two daughters. Random facts about Jen: she was an extra in the movie Derailed (with Jennifer Aniston), she lived in Alaska for a summer, she was a traffic reporter for NBC in Chicago, and she tore her ACL playing basketball in college. She’s passionate about fund-raising and participating in Walk MS (multiple sclerosis), as well as Cure SMA’s (spinal muscular atrophy) Walk-n-Roll.

The Go-Go’s at Sandstone…back when it was Sandstone!
Something listeners would be surprised to know about you?
I’m a pretty open book, so there probably aren’t many surprises. I’m tall. Do I sound tall?
Favorite Royals Player?
Back in the day, I loved Mike Sweeney, and a former radio co-host of mine got him to call into our morning show, which made me love him even more!
Favorite Chiefs player?
I’m going with Todd Blackledge because he did a visit at my grade school (Christ the King in KCK) and I just thought he was the coolest guy ever!
Favorite local charity?
Variety KC has been close to my heart since we work with them on our Request-a-thon every year, and I also love what Bags of Fun KC is doing for Kansas City kids.
How long have you lived in Kansas City?
I was born and raised in Kansas City, but have also lived in Alaska (for a summer), Chicago, and some other areas of Kansas.
What is your ideal weekend in KC?
I have a whole vision for this–it’s Christmas time and we eat at Piropos, which has a pretty view of lights if you sit in the right spot, spend time looking at the Plaza lights, and see The Nutcracker or A Christmas Carol. Did I mention there’s a light, beautiful, sparkly snow during this?
Any pets?
Audrey Absinthe, a black/white cat we got a million years ago from Great Plains SPCA. We also have two betta fish-Cherry Valance and Mildew.
Favorite restaurant in KC?
J. Gilbert’s in Overland Park for a fancy night of scallops (although I know everyone else gets their incredible steaks). Club 27 in Overland Park-when the weather is nice, you can sit outside and it has the prettiest view overlooking the Sykes/Lady Golf Course! TOUS les JOURS in Overland Park for amazing French pastries! Oooh, and also Le Fou Frog in downtown KC—the best date night French bistro. I love food and going to restaurants!
